A laptop based on the Pegatron AIC70 platform, used in the Acer Aspire 7739G, exhibited a power-on failure after being disassembled and reassembled by the owner. Upon inspection, a damaged ceramic inductor was found on the motherboard. Replacement of this component restored the board’s ability to start, but issues related to the discrete GPU were subsequently identified.

To address these issues, a modification was performed to disable the dedicated graphics processor. The most effective method was found to be the removal of resistor R2513, which carries the DGPU_PWR_EN signal.

After this modification, power delivery to the GPU core and its associated video memory was completely disabled. The cooling fan resumed proper speed regulation, and system stability was restored. The laptop operated normally in UMA mode (integrated graphics only).

At the time of testing, no confirmed working solutions for this platform were available publicly. Earlier attempts to disable the GPU by cutting its power rail or changing strap configurations to force UMA mode resulted in the fan operating at maximum speed without control. The removal of R2513 provided a functional and stable resolution to the problem, ensuring reliable system performance in integrated-only mode.
